Apart from the pursuance of academic excellence, special emphasis
is also laid on general grooming and character building of the cadets.
Therefore, cadets are provided ample opportunities to participate
in various training activities, seminars, competition etc at both
the national and international level. In this regard the college
has established partnership with Lordswood Boys School Birmingham,
England under Global School Partnership Programme with the courtesy
of the British Council for four years and there have been a number
of exchanges of students work however the 2005 earthquake devastated
PSCC and disrupted the collaboration. In 2006, however, the partnership
was successful in applying for a reciprocal visit grant. Pakistan
Scouts Cadet College Batrasi’s partnership with Lordswood Boys School
supports teachers and students to work together on various projects
of mutual interest.
Visit to Lordswood Boys
School Birmingham:
In Nov 2006, a contingent of 08 Cadets along with
Vice Principal Academic visited Lordswood Boys’ School Birmingham.
The idea of linkage provided a lot regarding different and diverse
cultures and theme of global dimension like friendship, peace, human
rights, justice, environmental issue etc. and develop common theme
of citizenship and service through the interaction of students at
international level. It also aims at sharing experience in field
of education and culture to make this world prosperous.
A part from educational exchanges the students
played different sports fixture and participated in various other
activities like rowing, skiing, rock climbing, mountaineering, map
reading, camping and hiking. These activities helped develop mutual
relations between the students of both the partner institutions/schools.
The delegation visited various historical places and met some dignitaries
like, councillor, Lord Mayor Birmingham city, senior advisor and
prominent figures of Pakistani community living there.
Visit to Pakistan Scouts
Cadet College Batrasi.
In response two faculty members Mr. Neil Mackintosh
and Mr. Matt Snape visited PSCC Batrasi in April 2008, from LBS
Birmingham. The faculty members and students held detailed meeting
with them and shared their views extensively for developmental plans.
The visitors along with Principal PSCC Batrasi called on the then
Federal Minister for Education and Chairman College BOM LT. Gen
(Retd) Javed Ashraf and Governor NWFP Lt. Gen Ali Muhammad Jan Aurak
Zai. They appreciated the efforts rendered by both the sides to
provide the students these opportunities. They expressed their satisfaction
that the reciprocal partnership between the two institutions/schools
will pave the way for sharing the experience in the field of education
and culture and promote friendship toward Global Peace.
Participation in Cadet Leadership Course
2008
Five (post 16) cadets from PSCC travelled to England
in July 2008 to attend the National Cadet Leadership Course at the
Cadet Training Centre, Frimley Park, along with some cadet leaders
from Lordswood Boys’ School. They then went on to attend the week
long Combined Cadet Force Central Camp with 25 cadets from Lordswood
Boys’ School. During the visit they participated in various Military
and other activities like Land March, Drill, Obstacle Course, Canoeing,
Weapon Handling Exercise, Mountaineering, Command Tasks, Climbing,
Shooting, Swimming, Improvised Rafting and Sports Competitions.
Apart from this the delegation visited various historical places
and met some dignitaries like Lord Mayor Birmingham city, Ch. Abdul
Rasheed who happened to be a Pakistani and promised to visit PSCC
Batrasi to make this relation stronger.
Participation in Social
Action Project 2009.
Recently a contingent of two cadets alongwith
Principal Brig Syed Sajid Hussain Shah S.I (M) and his wife Mrs
Sajid visited UK to participate in Social Action Project and “Kabbadi”
a local game was selected for this purpose. Our cadets taught playing
Kabbadi to students of 05 schools and at the end of the week a sport/kabbadi
gala was celebrated. Apart from it Mrs Sajid visited various girls
school located in the vicinity of Lordswood Boys School and observed
their system of education and she also introduced a local Pakistani
girls school. During the visit, they also visited various classes
and observed the educational system which will be implemented in
our college.
Participation in Cadet Leadership
Course 2009.
Recently a contingent of 05 cadets alongwith Mr
Ikram Sarwar, Lecturer in English visited United Kingdom and participated
in various training activities like Cadet Leadership Course held
at Cadet Training Centre, Frimley and Combined Cadet Force Central
Camp held at Cadet Training Camp Crowborough – UK in July 2009.
The visiting contingent took part in various obstacle courses held
at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and met the high command of
Military who appreciated their performance. During the visit the
cadets also visited France and Belgium and laid flora wreath at
the graves of soldiers who died during 2nd world war.
ROYAL HONOUR FOR THE BATRASIANS:
During the visit the cadets were invited to participate in the 75th
Anniversary of the British Council held on 15 July 2009 in London.
The visiting cadets alongwith students from their partner school
Lordswood Boys School met H.E. The Prince of Wales who highly appreciated
and commended the efforts of both the schools.
