Co-Curricular Activities


a. Inter-House Competition
Inter-House competitions in literary and cultural activities are held regularly. These include Urdu and English debates, Essay-writing contests, Qirat Competitions and Quiz Competitions
b. Educational Visits and Excursions
The college attaches great importance to educational visits and excursions. These include visits to other sister institutions, industrial zones, Engineering works, educational training centers both civil and military, and places of historical and geographical interest.

c. Clubs and Societies
Many clubs and societies i.e. Arts and Painting Club, Photographic Club, Science Club, Dramatic Club, Computer Club, Urdu & English Debating Societies provide the requisite co-curricular grooming. Similarly the Hiking, Shooting, Mountaineering, Riding, and Scouting Clubs provide thrill of outdoor life and develop a spirit of adventure in Cadets.
d. Literary and Cultural Activities
There is a regular period for cultural and literary activities for each class every Saturday. The topics for discussion for the junior and the senior classes are published in the Weekly College Order. Cadets are encouraged to express their views on various topics. This is to build their confidence to express themselves fluently. The college provides them ample opportunities to prepare topics from the available books, which broaden their mental horizon and scope of knowledge and learning.
e. Weekly Assembly
Once in a week the whole College gathers for a morning assembly on Wednesdays. Nominated House conducts the weekly assembly with recitation from the Holy Quran including translation, speeches concerning general information about Pakistan and the World which is followed by a beautifully worded college Anthem. Towards the end the Principal gives thought of the week, followed by the National Anthem and then the Cadets march past to end the assembly.
f. Celebration of National and Religiously Significant Days
Celebration of National Days and events: i.e. Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, Quaid-e-Azam Day, Iqbal Day, Defense Day, Pakistan Day and Independence Day are a significant feature of the College.
g. College Magazine
The college magazine “The Batrasian Scout” is published regularly in two sections i.e. English/Urdu and contains articles, essays and short stories, written mainly by scout cadets and faculty members.
h. Guest Speakers
Leading luminaries and scholars from all over Pakistan are invited each year to speak to the Scout Cadets on informative and patriotic themes. The Scout Cadets are also provided opportunities to meet and interact with the visiting dignitaries.

j. Religious instructions
Religious grooming, viewed to be the main fiber of character building, is an essential part of the academic discipline. This aspect is looked after by a Religious Committee, which generally motivates cadets towards broader values of Islam. Morning and Friday prayers are compulsory. Quran-Nazira and Hifz-i-Quran is regularly organized for desirous cadets after morning prayers.
k. Debates and Speech Contests
Inter-house debates and speech contests are held regularly which helps the cadets in the art of public Speaking, generates confidence and polishes their language.
l. Dinner Nights
Weekly dinner nights are a regular feature which help cadets in mess mannerism.
m. Tutorial System
To establish a bond between the teacher and the taught, Tutorial System has been introduced. It enables the teacher to locate weak and strong points in the personality of his cadets as each cadet has certain dormant potentials and capabilities, which need to be identified and activated. Our faculty endeavors to groom and develop these latent qualities.
n. Games/Sports and Physical Training
To keep the scout cadets mentally and physically fit, it is compulsory to participate in regular P.T, games and sports, organized in the mornings and evenings. Inter-House competitions in Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Basket Ball, Athletics, Cross-Country and obstacle course are the major events in which Scout Cadets participate with full enthusiasm.

o. Computer Education
To keep the Scout Cadets abreast with myriad uses of computer and related electronic devices, a fully equipped ‘COMPUTER LAB’ operates in the College, where Internet facility has also been provided to make them global citizen in a real sense.
p. Database
The college is fully computerized and we have on interactive website, on which the parents can see academic performance of their sons/wards by entering their scout cadet numbers.
q. Interaction/Exposure within the Country and Abroad
To cater for the essentially needed social interaction and broaden the outlook of cadets, frequent visits are undertaken to other sister institutions where they participate in debates, sports competitions and other co-curricular activities. Similarly, we invite foreign scouts/Scout Cadets to visit the college for a variety of interactions. Our selected cadets are frequently sent abroad for various scout moots, youth forums and Jamborees. So far they have visited UNESCO General Assembly, Maldives, Nepal, Thailand ,Bhutan, South Korea, Kuwait, England, Sri Lanka and India.
r. Social Works
To generate the spirit of helping the needy and poor and uplift the backward areas, fortnightly visits to surrounding villages are organized under the patronage of local administration.
s. Global School Partnership Programme

Apart from pursuance of academic excellence, special emphasis is also laid on the grooming and character building of the cadets. Therefore, cadets are provided ample opportunities to participate in various training activities, seminars and educational gatherings at both national and international level. Towards this end the college has established a successful partnership with Lordswood Boys School, Birmingham, UK, through Global School Partnership Programme with the courtesy of the British Council. In November 2006 a contingent of 08 cadets alongwith Vice Principal (Academic) Mr Toqeer ul Islam visited Lordswood Boys School Birmingham and in response two faculty members visited PSCC Batrasi in April 2008. In 2008 a contingent of 05 cadets alongwith Mr Mushtaq Muhammad participated in Cadet Leadership Course held at Cadet Training Centre England. In June 2009 a contingent of two cadets alongwith Principal Brig Syed Sajid Hussain Shah (Retd) S.I (M) visited UK to participate in Social Action Project. In July 2009 a contingent of 05 cadets alongwith Mr Ikram Sarwar, Lecturer in English, visited UK to participate in Cadet Leadership Course and took part in various other activities carried out at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. During the visit, the cadets also visited France and Belgium. The contingent also got opportunity to participate in 75th Anniversary of the British Council in London and met H.E The Prince of Wales who highly appreciated the efforts of both the schools. Recently a contingent of 06 cadets alongwith Mr Muhammad Jamil Ahmed Khan and Mr Shahid Mehboob visited UK and participated in Combined Cadet Force Central Camp held at Nescliff, Shrupshire
